What languages do you speak to the children at your center, and what benefits do you see for the children learning these languages?

At Everlight 24/7 Child Development Center, we primarily communicate with children in English, while also incorporating Spanish, French, and American Sign Language (ASL) in everyday interactions and learning activities when appropriate. Our goal is not to overwhelm children, but to gently expose them to multiple forms of communication in a natural and supportive environment.

What made you decide to offer support in these specific languages?

At Everlight 24/7 Child Development Center, our decision to support English, Spanish, French, and American Sign Language (ASL) comes directly from the needs of the families and children we aim to serve, as well as our commitment to inclusion, communication, and early childhood development.

How do you help families who speak these different languages feel comfortable and understood when they interact with your center?

At Everlight 24/7 Child Development Center, we understand that communication is the foundation of trust between families and caregivers. We are committed to making every family feel welcomed, respected, and fully understood—regardless of the language they speak. Our staff includes individuals who can communicate in English and Spanish, with additional exposure to French and American Sign Language (ASL) used to support understanding and inclusion when needed. We use clear, easy-to-understand language when speaking with families and avoid complicated terminology, especially during important discussions about a child’s care or development. When possible, we provide written updates, reminders, and communication in a format that helps reduce misunderstandings and ensures families stay informed. We also incorporate non-verbal communication and ASL support when necessary.
